The smaller class size allows you to reach children who need individual attention and help them learn in a nurturing environment. Through your educational instruction, you can aid their therapeutic progress. These students may have struggled in the past, but you can take the time to help them develop a love of learning that will brighten their future.

Our teachers on this level are expected to work collaboratively with the staff of the facility where they are placed, maintaining a positive relationship through communication, involvement and discretion.

Teaching in the residential treatment or behavioral health setting can be a challenging assignment, but it offers many benefits. It is a year round position with holidays and vacations similar to the local school district's. You will receive health benefits and paid personal/sick time. With fewer classroom hours, a typical day is split in half between teaching and interacting with students, and lesson planning and administrative duties.
